A Flower

And so the school year begins. I send you on your way with a poem and a thought, and a day early, at that!

A Flower

A flower you are not,
and flower never be,
in Autumn fault forgot,
till Summer guarantee.

You do not spread your brow
beneath the beryl sky,
but flowers bear no vow
and flowers surely die.

Your floret and perfume
shall not disperse with frost.
My love, you are a bloom
that time cannot exhaust.

What a lovely poem! And your expanded blog title is a perfect description for your writing here. I see that you are a TAC graduate. Do you, by chance, know Sean Gerrity? He was a student there a few years back.

I do! I graduated in 2003, and if I remember correctly, he was a couple years behind me.

That's great! Sean was ordained to the diaconate this Spring; he's on track to be ordained to the priesthood next June. His brother Tim lives near us. Small world!

Congratulations to Sean for that! Yes, I find TAC connections everywhere, despite the fact that it's one of the smallest schools ever.
